Use Airplay to Connect an iPhone to a Samsung TV

You can connect your iPhone to Samsung TVs that support Airplay 2, including models from 2018 and later.

How to Use AirPlay Mirroring

Make sure that both the iPhone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi connection.

Check that you've enabled Airplay on your iPhone.

Open the app from which you want to stream.

Tap the Airplay icon.

In some apps, such as Photos, you need to press the share button first.

Use a Lightning Digital AV Adapter to Screen Mirror

This is one of the easier options, but you will need to buy or acquire a specific adapter from Apple for it to work. The Lightning Digital AV Adapter can be found for around $49.00 and works with most iOS devices, including iPhones and iPads. You will need to have an extra HDMI cable ready to use, as it will be used to physically link your iPhone to your Samsung TV.

Use Samsung Apps to Connect

If you would prefer a wireless solution for connecting your iPhone to your Samsung Smart TV, there are a few apps that can help.

When using any of these apps for screen mirroring, the Smart TV and the iPhone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. The apps will not function if your phone and TV are on different networks.

Samsung SmartView App

The Samsung SmartView app is a free app you can install on your phone that will allow screen mirroring to your smart TV. Here's how:

Make sure that both the iPhone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi connection.

Launch the Samsung SmartView app. It will ask you to enter the code that appears on your Samsung Smart TV screen.

Enter the pin, and the device should automatically connect to your TV.

Mirror for Samsung TV

If you don’t like the performance of the SmartView app, you can try the Mirror app for Samsung TV. This $4.99 app gives you a bit more freedom with what you can mirror onto your Samsung TV.

Once your phone and TV are on the same network, the Mirror app will ask you to select your television. Select the correct TV from the menu.

Select Mirror Samsung TV > Start Broadcast. Your iPhone's screen is then mirrored onto your Samsung Smart TV, showing how long you have been mirroring the screen.

When you'd like to stop mirroring, go back to the app, and select Stop Broadcast.

Other Apps With Mirroring Capabilities

There are some apps like YouTube that have their own way of mirroring the iPhone screen to your TV. Then you can watch your favorite YouTube videos right on your TV instead of the small screen on your phone.
